Lake of the Ozarks is the Midwest’s tourist destination. The lake itself is a 54,000 acre playground for boaters and has over a hundred establishments located on the lake’s edge from marinas to restaurants to night clubs to beaches. While floating in the lake is one of the favorite pastimes of both locals and visitors, wake surfing and wakeboarding are becoming increasingly popular. To schedule your unforgettable watersports experience today, contact Kirby's School of Wake.
Lake of the Ozarks is one of the nation’s great fisheries, hosting professional, amateur and club fishing tournaments all year long. The floating docks and underwater structures such as “crappie beds” provide excellent habitat for a variety of fish including black bass, white bass, crappie, sunfish, catfish, paddlefish and many more. The Lake of the Ozarks also hosts one of the nation’s biggest and highest payout tournaments twice a year – Big Bass Bash. The State of Missouri’s Department of Conservation offers “Free Fishing Days” on an early weekend in June every year.
We are excited about the quality golf courses making Lake of the Ozarks the Midwest's premier golf destination. Excellent facilities provide over 180 holes of championship golf courses carved into the rolling terrain, with water and elevations that will challenge any game--from duffer to pro. You simply can't find these Ozark hills just anywhere and the views are sensational. You will want to check into our Golf Trail Packages during the Spring and Fall.
The Lake has recently evolved into the premier Midwest shopping and golfing destination. Here you will find a wide variety of shopping including Osage Beach Factory Outlet Mall with 110 top manufacture's stores. Among other malls are the Victorian themed Main Street of Poverty Flats Village, Country Crossroads, Prewitt Point and Stone Crest Malls. A favorite of many of our guests is to visit the Lake Ozark Bagnell Dam Strip located just 4 miles away from the resort which also hosts a variety of events, parades and festivals, including Hot Summer Nights.
As with any vacation area, the Lake offers something for all ages. On land, play includes Big Surf Water Park with a variety of wet fun for the whole family. Other recreational activities encompass amusement parks, miniature golf, go-karts, helicopter, excursion boat rides, boat races, horseback riding, bowling, festivals and fireworks. There are three major commercial caves here – Bridal Cave, Jacob’s Cave, Ozark Caverns, and Fantasy World Caverns. We also have Main Street Music Hall. You certainly want to visit the Bagnell Dam Strip with its many arcades and visit the scenic Ha Ha State Park Tonka.
